A
lifeline to scale the walls of hope :
College tuition
We have watched with great pain year after year as many of our
youth hit the wall of financial barrier and drop out of formal education.
Most of our youth drop out of school at senior six (Pre-University
level) for lack of finances and poor grades.
Most of the families of our community cannot afford a University
or tertiary institutions education. Without a good education, it
is hard to get a well paying job here. Unemployment in our country
is big and the competition to make it in the world of the unemployed
is very stiff and frustrating. The disparity between the rich and
the poor is growing every other day: as the path of the children
from rich families is lined with opportunities while that of the
poor are full of obstacles.
This kind of frustrations has caused many young girls to opt for
early marriage or resort to prostitution for survival. Many people
in a community like ours live without realizing their full potentials.
God answered our prayer this year and currently five of our young
people are being fully sponsored by Peninsula Community Church,
though Align Ministries
at different institutions of higher learning here in Uganda.
With a professional skill, we believe that each of these young people
have a better chance in life to break free from the vicious cycle
of poverty.
We also believe that each of them will be better placed to help
educate other members
of their respective families, and who knows, other members of our
community too as some of us are already doing.
Our biggest joy is that their training is going directly benefit
our ministry and community. Each one of these young people have
been directly serving with the church

Jennifer Batiyo
who used to be a facilitator with our nursery school (Donela)
after her college education is now at African Bible University,
offering a BA. in early childhood development. We hope to
employ Jennifer in our education services.

Agga Moses(in green shirt)is
one of our youth leaders. He is doing a diploma in laboratory
technician course. Agga was very helpful during the Operation
Heal Africa medical mission as he actively participated in
screening and testing people for HIV/AIDS.
One of our dreams is to put up a medical clinic and we hope
to employ Agga in the laboratory. |

Pastor Joseph Lomoi is our pastor at Wobulenzi
Pentecostal Church ,he is a teacher by profession is now coming
into full time ministry. He is being sponsored for a degree
program in Theology and Bible with Glad Tidings Bible College |

Yasin Abdul is Formerly a Moslem
and now our pastor to Luwero Pentecostal Church. Yasin is
also being sponsored for a degree program in Theology and
Bible with Glad Tidings Bible College |

Kenneth Mugume Is doing a diploma
in music. He is already doing so much with his musical skill
and with the knowledge he is gaining, to help boost the Worship
ministry at church. We also hope to employ Kenneth teach music
in school. |
We are forever grateful to Peninsula
Community Church for their generosity and pray that God will
reward you for this.
Amazingly, our education, which is so expensive for an ordinary
Ugandan, is unimaginably cheap compared to the cost of education
in the developed world.
